Company History
The Buerge Motor Car Company of today evolved from the oldest Ford franchise in Los Angeles starting back in 1915. In the 1930's the Buerge family joined the Walker family, who were the original proprietors, by pur-
chasing one half of the business. This partnership continued until 1982 when the Walker family sold their remaining interest in the company to the Buerge family. Today Buerge Motor Car Company remains family owned and operated including the original Ford franchise along with Chrysler-Plymouth/Jeep and . Three generations of the Buerge family and dedicated employees have worked hard to deliver the kind of personal service our customers expect and deserve. The people are truly the difference.

Walker-Buerge Ford in 1957 - Still at the corner of Granville and Santa Monica Boulevard, but expansion is necessary due to increased business. Maurice Buerge is now a full partner and
work is already underway two blocks west.

One of the longest continually active Ford dealerships in the United States and California, Buerge Ford has a history that dates to the beginning of the automotive age and the automobile business in America. Buerge Ford has its roots in the very start of automobiles in Los Angeles in the year 1915. In 1934, Maurice Buerge became a partner in Walker Motor Co and helped create Walker-Buerge Ford that saw continued growth over the next fifty years in our local area community of West Los Angeles and Santa Monica. Three generations of the Buerge family have operated this franchise since it's very beginnings, Maurice Buerge, the founder, John R. Buerge, still CEO and President, and now James C. Buerge, Vice President and General Manager. Buerge Ford is still located in the same area on Santa Monica Boulevard - 11800 Santa Monica and 11750 Santa Monica. Today Buerge Ford, and Buerge Motor Car Company remains 100% wholly family owned and operated as an original Ford franchise. Three generations of the Buerge family and dedicated employees have worked hard to deliver the kind of personal service our customers expect and deserve. The people are truly the difference.
